REPEAT: Home Health CoPs: Whatcha Gonna Do When It Comes For You?
Now that we know that the new Conditions of Participation (CoPs) will definitely be implemented on January 13th, 2018, it’s time for home health agencies to take advantage of the extension and master the new requirements. While we haven’t seen an update to CoPs for decades, these updates have been promised for years and were finally released in 2017’s Final Rule in January. These updates will greatly impact every Medicare-certified home health agency. There are extensive updates that will require agencies to quickly implement changes in order to properly prepare for the upcoming implementation. The most noteworthy updates are the changes to the Patient’s Rights section and the Plan of Care Requirements section. Given the fact there are 374 pages of the Final Rule, we understand that’s quite a bit of information to absorb, so we’ve made it easy for you by offering two choices:
1. Join PPS Plus’s Education Director, Jennifer Warfield, who has reviewed the Final Rule in full detail, as she breaks down the most important sections or
2. Brew a pot of extra bold coffee, find a cozy spot and start reading and understanding CoPs and the Final Rule all on your own.
We know you’ll make the best decision; looking forward to seeing you online!
